CD BioGlyco Provides Multi-platforms to Support Glycoprotein Quantification Needs

CD BioGlyco, a world leading biotechnology company that is committed to discovering, developing, manufacturing and providing innovative glycobiology-related high quality products and services, now provides multi-platform method for quantitative analysis of glycoproteins. Protein glycosylation is one of the major post-translational modifications that can significantly affect protein folding, distribution, stability, conformation, and activity. Glycoprotein abundance, degree of glycosylation, and glycan structure changes are strongly associated with many diseases, such as genetic diseases, immunodeficiency, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. The growing popularity of the study of glycoproteomics has increased the need for the development of quantitative glycomics strategies. These strategies require the ability to sensitively monitor glycan abundance and structural changes. Using these strategies allows elucidation of the role and characteristics of glycans in biological systems. In the past, research has been focused on the enrichment and separation of glycoproteins/glycopeptides, identification of glycosylation sites, and glycan structure analysis. So far, the development of quantitative glycomics lags slightly behind other studies. Currently, the combination of multiple analytical techniques (e.g., capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry) is mainly used to quantitatively analyze glycoproteins. To improve the sensitivity of spectra and mass spectra, it is necessary to label them with ionic and/or hydrophobic reagents during the analysis. Labeling with stable isotope reagents is also considered a feasible strategy to achieve relative quantification. At present, CD BioGlyco provides a variety of technology platforms for quantitative analysis of glycoproteins, mainly including fluorescence spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis, laser-induced fluorescence detection, hydrophilic interaction chromatography with fluorophores, and mass spectrometry. The following quantitative analysis service are available at CD BioGlyco: Quantitative analysis of glycans derivatized with reductive amination chemistry Quantitative analysis of glycans derivatized with reagents that introduce a cationic charge Quantitative analysis of glycan hydrazones Quantitative analysis of permethylated glycans Quantitative glycomics through stable isotopic labeling Metabolic labeling quantitative glycomics Quantitative glycomics with porous graphitized carbon columns “CD BioGlyco has extensive experience in various types of glycoproteomic analysis.
